I’ve just popped over here after posting my garden’s Justice and Peace Pole on the interactive map over at The Peace Pole Project. Search for Holden, MA to find it. 🙂

I will share more about it another time (yes, I do offer workshops to create them with groups or individuals – again, more on that later), but in the meantime, I wanted to share an image with you and the little write-up I shared on The Peace Pole Project website. This has been in my garden since 2023 or 2024 – honestly, I can’t remember – and part of its beauty is how it makes the color of every flower POP in the spring and summertime! I had no idea this would be a side effect of installing it.

This peace pole is upcycled from a lot marker used during a frustrating and disempowering construction project at our home – at a time when so much energy of the world felt frustrating and disempowering, full of worry and fear and rage. I wanted to transmute the energy associated with my anger of that memory and worry about the world, and give the wood new life.

Plus, I am a pacifist — I’d always wanted a peace pole to emanate from my home.

So after some time pondering what to do, I settled on a Justice and Peace Pole, or a Progressive Peace Pole. Since it is small, I knew that writing May Peace Prevail on Earth would be difficult to read and messy to write, but I wanted to infuse it with the essence of Peace and Love.

I turned to the Progressive Pride flag for inspiration, taking the colors of the flag and painting them, one at a time, wishing peace, love and justice for all peoples. Acorn caps at the top are used in place of a triangle, a nod to nature’s uplifting, healing power.
